Drinking lemon water in the morning can provide several potential benefits, including aiding digestion, boosting vitamin C intake, promoting hydration, potentially supporting weight management, and giving a small metabolic boost due to the potassium in lemons, which can help with alertness and energy levels. When I posted a reel on drinking lemon water in the morning, so many people asked - how much water? how much lemon? This is overthinking something so simple. Get a glass of water and squeeze some lemon. I generally do a half or less lemon. You have to make it not taste too lemony, lol. Brush your teeth right after - very important. Temperature of water is a personal preference: I take mine hot, always.
Hot water: May help with digestion and circulation. It may also help with cold and flu symptoms.
Cold water: Some say it can help burn calories.
Lukewarm water: May be gentle on the system and help extract vitamin C from the lemon.
I have been using reverse osmosis water filtration system in my house for years and just discovered a BETTER water that we should all be using. This water even replaces your kitchen counter cleaners, toner for face and it removes pesticides from fruits & veggies. The water system has 7 different types that work for many different things…stay tuned. I will share a video on this once it is shipped and installed in my house.
In the meantime, let’s continue to just drink more water. Drink it before your coffee. Drink it first thing in the morning - a pinch of salt goes a long way, too. Drinking some clean salt in the morning helps with hydration, electrolyte balance, digestion, and detoxification due to the trace minerals present in the salt, which can help replenish essential minerals lost overnight and support overall bodily functions. It is important to consume in moderation. I usually do a very small pinch! Some favorite salts: Spicewell (code: wakeup15) and Baja gold salt (which can last you years!!)
What your doctor won’t tell you about thyroid, gut and hormone ussues.
Functional nutrition focuses on root causes of health issues, like gut health, stress, inflammation, and toxins, which impact thyroid and hormone balance. Unlike conventional nutritionists, functional nutritionists use lab testing to uncover hidden health problems. They help manage metabolic dysfunction and recommend hormone replacement therapy for perimenopause and menopause. Additionally, they provide practical steps to reduce inflammation, balance blood sugar, and improve thyroid function.
